Ever wonder what inspires us when putting together your Studio Calico kits? Many times it's new product on the market, hot color combinations, or a must-have product that we work the entire kit around. But sometimes, it's an item or photo that inspires us.
One day earlier this year, Scarlet had taken her kids to Barnes & Noble for a Saturday outing when she found this amazing book by Oliver Jeffers. The story is so cute, plus the pages themselves are works of art. Enter our inspiration for January's kit.
I hope this leads to massive guessing on what's inside your non-traditional January kit. If you were hoping for snowflakes and evergreen trees, I hope you won't be disappointed.
But, in case you are, here's an opportunity to win some more of the FaLaLa collection from Making Memories!!! Just post a link to a photo/store/book, anything that's inspiring to you for a chance to win!
Ohhh - this is easy! The most inspiring thing to me right now is Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas - these tags have been true works of art this year! http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/

I was mulling over this robe, in particular:

Sadly, there is no link for my "inspiration". It's a wonderful Italian restuarant: Bravo! Cucina Italiana. The outside of the building has antique white, taupe and black...touches of green from the landscaping. When I first saw it, I immediately thought those colors with a distressed look would be awesome in a scrap book! Add some gold highlights and I'm hooked.
ReplyDeletethe ideas and colors are a good jump-off point for scrapbook pages. :)
