what do you have planned for December?

big trend this year = December Daily album...yet another great idea from Ms. Ali Edwards. :)

and it's also a great way to use up pieces/parts of your fave scrap goodies that you may be hoarding. very little in my book is actually 'Christmas' themed...just bits i pulled out of my stash.

here we go...

painted the back of really sturdy chipboard that i can buy locally from a 'paper supply store' for my cover. then i grabbed some black silk ribbon and ruffled it around the edge of this older Scenic Route sticker, which kind of sums it all up. then i stitched around the edge to make sure it stayed put, lol.

the best part of this kind of album (to me anyway...being the mini book lover that i am), is mixing and matching leftover pages, etc. from other books. i often pull out a few pages from the minis that i buy, especially if they are something i really like...then i stash them aside for just a project like this one. gives the book a really fun, random look to have all kinds of surprises peeking out at every turn.

anyone else have these Heidi Swapp ghost frames laying around?! i love them...and after you just paint a bit around the edges and add a rub-on border, look how fun!!

so we'd love to see everyone's progress as the month goes along over in the gallery...please upload whenever you can!
you just never know who you may inspire.
:)

  6. What a lovely book you have made!
I would have loved to do the December Daily, but I simply haven't had time for it...
But I love this idea and I think I will adapt it for Christmas, to make a daily book from Christmas eve till new year..

  7. I did this 2 years ago. We still look at the album of what we did and look at the miniature photos. It is a fun project for sure. One way to do it is also create a folder and keep notes of each day and when you have time you can complete your mini album for the month when you find the time and not put pressure on yourself.
