Hello everyone!
Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready to get started with this new challenge this week!
You know how much I love masking tape? Well I wanted to play with it a little bit this week :) and maybe inspire you to do the same!
Here, for this layout, I simply put my masking tape on my patterned paper and did the same sketch on a Photoshop file, trying to figure out exactly where I put the masking tape, so that I could write my journaling.
My journaling and the title are both printed on masking tape.
I chose not to print them in black not to get an overwhelming and bold contrast between my bright background and the color of the journaling.
Write your journaling and pick a grey color for it : it will look like it's more into the masking tape.
Choose a bold font for your title.
If you wish to stamp on masking tape, I highly recommend you to use Stazon ink (black or brown) or Distress Ink (and use a heat gun for this one to make it dry faster) because any other ink might not dry on the masking tape.
I did this layout using past add-on kits but any kits this month will look amazing. As long as you have masking tape! :)
So use some masking tape on a NEW layout, print your journaling, title or stamp on it and link it up by next Saturday, March 20th at midnight EST for a chance to win a $5 gift certificate to the Studio Calico shop!
xoxo,
Céline
Oh, such a cool challenge!!! I looove masking tape :o)
ReplyDeleteAnd a gorgeous layout too!!!
I must do this challenge :)
That is SO cool! I love all of the ideas I get from your blog.
ReplyDeleteQuestion, how do you keep the ink from smearing on the tape?
Use a heat gun to make it dry faster but I didn't have to do it when I printed it.
ReplyDeleteMy questions is this: most of the masking tape that I've used on things in the past (maybe even years ago) have all gotten brittle and lost their adhesive quality. Is today's masking tape going to be different or should I expect the same result years down the road? I'm not even worried about the acid-free issue, I'm just worried about it falling apart on my page.
ReplyDeleteI've been using masking tape for years now and buy mine at my local hardware store. Mine doesn't come with any wrinkle on it and doesn't get "old" at all. But I assume it all depends whether you live in a dry or humid place. I live in the south of france where the weather is pretty most dry all year long so that's probably why.
ReplyDeletethat looks cool!!!!
ReplyDeletebonne idée ce ghallenge!!!!

Celine- did you post the winner of this challenge yet?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure that masking tape is archival quality, right? Is there a type or brand that is? I'm worried that it will turn my photos and papers yellow or itself will deteriorate in some years time.
