Hi All! I have created a video tutorial to show you how to hand stitch the way that I do. Enjoy! Let me know if you have any questions! And be nice! lol
Great tutorial, Davinie! I just did a picture tutorial on the same topic over at 52 Sketches...52 Weeks. I use a very similar technique, but 6 strands instead of 3. I'll have to try 3 and see how I like it. Love your work!
Thank you tons for this video. I am NOT a sewer but have been wanting to incorporate stitching into my L/Os. I appreciate how you explained this in a clear and easy way so I feel that even I can do this -- lol! I look forward to your tutorial on machine stitching. What sewing maching would you recommend to a novice wanna-be sewer like me who would be using it for crafty purposes only (not for sewing clothes, etc.)? Thanks again!
I am with Bonnie and would love to know what type of machine to buy to use just for crafting. I haven't hand stitched before on my layouts so I look forward to giving it a try! Thanks for sharing the tutorial!
Thanks for the great tutorial. I've been wanting to try sticthing but don't have a machine. For some reason, I never thought of doing it by hand. It's much easier than I thought!
Loved watching your video, Davinie. I especially loved your commentary... don't worry - we were looking at your awesome stitching, not your roots! Hee! Hee!!
I'm glad you did the tutorial, but I wish that the video was closer to the actual stitching. I love the commentary because even though I couldn't really see what you were doing, I do have a pretty good idea of how to do it.
great tutorial! i was watching with partially covered eyes as you poked holes through the paper - i've stuck myself quite a few times doing this prior to stitching...ouch!
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I was just thinking about the layout you did using this technique this morning while getting ready for work. I can't wait to try this.
