This morning our dear Studio Calico friend Aleida passed away!

She was a great scrapbooker, a mother to two beautiful babies, a wife to a wonderful man, and a sassy and wonderful friend to all of us at Studio Calico. She was a huge part of the community here and we will miss her greatly!

Aleida always made me giggle with her posts! I loved how feisty she was. And her love for her family and friends was evident in everything she said. I remember one post on her blog, while wishing her hubby a happy birthday...blurted out that she looked forward to unwrapping him that night! Bwahahaha! She was my kind of woman!

She will be greatly missed on the boards, as she was a huge encouragement and strength to all of us who loved this hobby and used it to create memories for our families. I know her husband and children will cherish her pages even more now that she is gone.

We will miss you Aleida!

I just posted on my blog... she was one of the first people to leave praise on my layouts... I'll always remember how accepting she was of me, as a new member of the community, and her sense of humor and loving personality. She will be missed.

One of my first friends, if not THE first friend I had here at SC. I so admired her. I loved how she created her pages. I loved knowing her. I wish I could do more than what I can do for her family. I will miss seeing her work, in all its glory. What a beautiful person. We miss you, Aleida.

Aleida is one person who made everyone who crossed her path feel special and valued. I don't even remember now how our friendship started, but I cherish what it has become. I'll miss our daily chatter and hearing her sass everyone like nobody's business. She could make me laugh, turn bright red, and just shake my head. Probably the one thing that stands out to me most is her amazing capacity to love and care for everyone, especially her husband and children.

As a new member, Aleida private emailed me within days of my posting work to the Studio Calico Gallery. She couldn't say enough wonderful things about my work. We started a playful banter back and forth on our blogs. She always left me praise. Always made me laugh. Today I cried. I'll miss her. It just doesn't seem real.

Aleida had an amazing ability to make people feel special, even if I didn't know her very long, she made me feel like I was one of her buddies. It still doesn't seem real...it's heartbreaking...

That picture is most definately a message & i'm hearing it lound and clear. My heart goes out to her family...they have all been on my mind all day. lighting a candle and thinking of her tonight. :(

being new here on SC, Aleida made you feel part of the group, right away. Her post on my last project posted, totally showed her fun, sassy personality. that is how I will remember her.

Aleida had a gift to bring people together, to love unconditionally, an amazing ability to inspire and encourage others. She shared her passion for life and her family daily with us. She was spirited, feisty and knew how to make us all laugh. Aleida I love you too lady and I am sending love to Brandon, Joshua and Bella. They were your heart honey... and because you are you they know it. A gift... precious gift. I will miss you as will all of us.

Aleida and I met on my first reveal night here at SC...her crazy attempts at distractions to keep us all away from ordering that add on kit that she was coveting kept me laughing the night away.

She always had an encouraging word and a beautiful outlook on life. She was a precious jewel and will be greatly missed.

When I first joined SC I lurked for months. It didn't take long to see how wonderful, vibrant and active Aleida was on the boards. I remember how excited I was when she started leaving praise on my LOs, I felt I had arrived:) She would send me emails about my work, always encouraging me to keep going and put myself out there. She had such an amazing spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She will be missed by everyone who knew her:(

Although new to the SC community, Aleida reached out and made me feel like a welcome member from the get-go. We connected via our blogs, the MB here...she was the kindest, most compassionate, and witty soul I have been graced to know. She had so many gifts that she shared with all of us. It breaks my heart to know she is gone, and I am extremely saddened for her family. :(

I am pretty straight-laced or was before Aleida helped me change my ways. Of course, I am kidding. I love Aleida like a sister. We emailed daily. Sometimes all day long. She had a wicked sense of humor, a naughty streak and was as supportive as they come. She went out of her way to make you feel talented, special and loved. I will miss her.

This is still very very heard to take in. One minute she was there - EVERYDAY and the next she was not. Its just not fair and Im sulking and sobbing like a baby. Its just so devastating.

Wow, I am shocked. She had a warm and gracious heart and always had positive things to say about everything. Her spirit will be missed.

She was one of the only people who regularly looked at my scrap work and gave me praise. In fact her encouragement was something I could count on. She inspired me and I created things based on her some of her designs. She was an incredible woman. I send prayers to her dear husband and children. I know she cherished them above all else. May she rest in peace. I will miss her very much.

What a very sad news!
My thoughts go to her family.

She was kind enough to visit my blog and leave comments as well as comments on my layout. It gave me confidence to be here and feel part of things, when my work did not feel worthy. What a wonderful person.

Aleida was always there with encouragement and kindness. She wasn't afraid to tell it like it is! She was Aleida, pure and simple-she was who she was! I will never forget when she stood up for me at 2 peas!! There were some terribly mean trolls who were trashing a layout of mine and Aleida set them straight in her sassy little way!! She was one of the most supportive people I have ever know!! You don't mess with her people she would say!!
My heart is just breaking and my tears just won't stop!! We will truly miss you girl!!

Aleida was one of the first people I met when I moved to Dallas about a year and a half ago. She was working at Recollections, and my daughter and I signed up for a class that she was teaching. Needless to say, we had a blast.

As time went on, many a laugh was shared at the midnight crops on Friday nights... often more talking than scrapping was accomplished! We learned so much about the scrapping "world" from her. She was the first person I knew who had a blog, and she loved to show us her latest layouts.

When Recollections closed, we maintained our friendship through our blogs and email. It is absolutely stunning to me how many of us she was able to communicate with regularly. What an extraordinary woman!

I want to thank all of you for sharing your emotions here, and on your personal blogs. This is such a wonderfully supportive community, with a huge heart. I'm sure it will be an enormous comfort to her family in the weeks and months ahead to know how much she was loved and admired.

I miss you, Aleida. I will cherish my memories of you always.

I loved that she got my Latin side!
She was so feisty and funny and caring and full of life.
I believe that as long as we keep her in our hearts and minds, she'll be here with us.

ALeda was the get up and go that kicked me back up when I was dx with MS. SHe told me the NancyJONES she KNEW woudlnt be layin down for this, that I would be up fighting. ANd then in the next breath said wait a minuete if you do give up... Send me all your scrap stuff (but she didnt say stuff lol) She had me rolling.
We both had babies named Bella so she always would say Just send me that. WHenever I would make something. She said I will leave all that mushy stuff you wrote on it just change the picture it will all be good,
SHE always had me cracking up. BUT when I needed my friends because I was so sick and so sad she was there in support of me telling me I could scrap again and not to dare give up.
I will remember that forever. and miss her so much.

I remember first seeing Aleida way back when I used to post at 2peas, she was always there praising my layouts and I always thought her avatar was so cool (it looked like she was in her car looking funky and spunky wearing her shades). I then "saw" her again when I joined SIS and also through playing along with the challenges at Scrapping the Music. She was always so generous in giving her kind comments and I was so sad to hear about this. I'll miss seeing her beautiful face and my thoughts are with her family and friends.
