One Last Challenge

I've been very impressed with the efforts put forth to complete this week's challenges. Lorie has gotten a huge amount of great organizational advice. I've almost made it through one whole kit. I'm taking it to a crop tonight, I'll take a picture of what's left and add it to this post in a few days. But I'm pretty happy that the kit is starting to look rather sparse.

Today's challenge is kind of a catch-all, all the embellishments need to go today. I used up all but two of my buttons. I only have a couple of Sassafras frames left. I have a couple of MM flowers, about 12 rub ons from the AC mini marks package, the same from the OA pack, about 14 inches of ribbon (this kit had an add on that came with 3 yards!), and three more ripstrips. It's a good feeling to be going through this kit. I've made 12 cards and one layout and tonight I hope to add to that number! Wish me luck.

I challenge you to use up those embellishments. Make at least 6 cards using your extra buttons, your extra chipboard, your extra ribbon, whatever you only have a few left of, use it on your cards.

You have until Monday night at 8 P.M. MST

Here's some examples to inspire you.

This frame was an odd size (in my opinion)for framing a photo, but throw in a cascade of buttons and a rub on and you have a quick card. And for those who know my issue with buttons not sewn on, I just had to get this post up and ran out of time. It's bugging me already :)

I loved how Tina A. used these rub ons in her gallery, she put them in the white space of a photo, I thought it would work equally as well on a card. It makes me happy.

How many rip strips can you get on a card? Well, I got 4 and some ribbon and chipboard as well. Stacking rows like this always allows you to get a lot on one card or layout.

You've seen a similar design from me before with similar flowers. I just love the look, so why not?

Remember to post your links to your creations here or in the message board thread. Have fun and use up your products!

And to be perfectly honest, my desk looks just like it did prior to this week's blogging. I just never got around to it. Maybe next week...

I love to make handmade cards, too! I know the challenge is to make cards but we've discovered another great way to use up all those left-overs...my daughter loves hair clips so one day we decided to make a bunch using buttons, ribbons, felt embellishments, etc. We've also tried making key chains and charms using left over embellishments (e.g. epoxy and chipboard products. Then we hand them out as gifts. So much fun!!
