Reveal Night Giveaway

Want to win these Fabulous Goodies from Elle's Studio?

Just leave a comment about your favorite holiday tradition.

For me, it's always opening stockings first. No matter what there was enticing us under the tree, it's always been a tradition to open our stockings first. Another tradition associated with the stocking is that it usually contains some socks and underwear.

My favorite traditon has been the Christmas Eve Open House I have had for the past seven or so years. I make a bunch of food and beverages and invite people to stop by on their way to last minute shopping or wrapping or church. I make a big pitcher of sangria and sit around all day with family and friends...it is awesome!

My favorite tradition is decorating the tree while drinking hot coco (with Baileys and whipped cream!) And don't forget all the classic Christmas songs!

I love love Christmas! Our famly tradition is that we can open our stockings as soon as we wake up but the main presents have to wait until the Christmas lunch is in the oven - we all muck in and although I'm 38, my mum still does me a stocking!!

We always open our stockings first as well. We use to drive around and look at lights on Christmas Eve while growing up. Little did we know, that was when "Santa" would come!

I love waking on Christmas morning & going downstairs with my parents. I give out all the gifts from under the tree then we take turns opening them while Chrismas music plays in the background. It's still the most magical part of the day for our family.

My favorite holiday tradition has always been Christmas dinner. We used to celebrate with two other families and it was always so much fun. We'd alternate who hosted each year. Now the tradition has changed slighty. Now it is just my immediate family and all of our spouses and children. It has taken on a whole new meaning watching our kids get excited about all the Christmas season has to offer.

Shara said...

My favorite as a little kid, and now as mom is making sugar cookies and decorating them to leave out for Santa. Who does love a little flour mess mixed with sprinkles and frosting?

we've got a lot of family traditions but one i really love is the christmas "JAR" tradition we have. all year long my entire extended family keeps their change and saves it in jars. then on christmas eve we drop the jar off at someones home who is in need of it, anonymously. like the Christmas Jars book by: Jason F. Wright. it helps us think of others all year round. i really enjoy this tradition.

Love Elle's Studio!

My favorite Christmas tradition involves a little set of bells that were given to my mom by her grandmother when she was young.
The bells are little angels each holding a letter, and when they sit side by side they spell out "Noel."

My sisters and I used to fight over whose turn it was to set the bells out on the mantel and one year when it was my turn I set them all out carefully. Maybe because I am left handed, I had set them up backwards so that they spelled "leoN."

Now every year when my mom displays them, she purposely sets them that way. We call them the Leon angels.

this is silly, but M&M lights and figures have become a tradition in our home since being gifted with them six years ago. I have enough M&M Guys to make a nativity! And they are something I don't mind if the kids break or loose or just carry all over the house.

My favourite tradition is going to a Christmas Market in Germany if I get the chance. The smell of these markets is just so nice and who could resist Bratwurt & mulled wine during a cold & crisp evening.

We also open our stockings first. But my favourite Christmas tradition is new Christmas jammies! I even did a layout about it last year - of course!

Cassi said...

I love Christmas baking, it truly is something I look forward to all year. It isn't Christmas if there aren't beautifully iced sugar cookies, peanut butter chocolate fudge, or crescent rolls -- YUMM!

My other favorite tradition about Christmas is that no matter what time you wake up Christmas morning you can open your stocking. You have to wait until everyone else is awake for presents (unless of course there are presents Santa as left just for you unwrapped under the tree).

Only 58 days till Christmas!

As I have lots of children we made a tradition years ago that they have a secret santa...we put all their names in a hat and then they each pick a name out and have to buy a present for that person (£5 in total)...that way it doesn't cost them too much, thay can have fun choosing a present and they also have fun trying to guess who is buying for them! We usually allow them to open their secret Santa presents on Christmas Eve....I love Christmas! xx

Gail said...

That's so funny, that is also a tradition at our home, where socks and underwear are found uniquely disguised in the Christmas Stocking.

We have a family tradition passed down from the Catholic side of the family that celebrates St. Nicholas Day. "St. Nick" puts small gifts and treats in the stockings during the night of Dec. 6th. He was a very wealthy man in the 3rd century who spent all his money helping the needy. (the original tradition was to put food for his horses in your shoes, hoping he would change them out for gifts, but we do the stocking thing now.) It is a very fun way to get in the Holiday mood early in the month!

One of our favorite traditions is going hunting for the perfect Christmas tree---all 4 of us---even though my daughters are now 20 & 25, we all still go out, tromp around the tree farm in our boots & hats, often in rain gear, get muddy, & find the perfect-for-this-year-tree! Now that my oldest has her own place, she usually gets her own tree too. It has to be a real tree, not a bush-shaped-trimmed tree!

Unknown said...

All my favorite traditions revolve around Christmas.Opening stockings first is our tradition too, another favorite is the Christmas Eve bash with family at my house and fried dough for breakfast on Christmas day....the only day of the year we eat it for breakfast! That day belongs to the kids and their toys and respectfully....our jammies.

We have so many wonderful traditions in my family that it is hard to pick. One of our most recent and new favorites is the pairing of our daily advent calendar (with daily activities, not chocolate!) and my December Daily picture. This combo has made the last two years some of the most memorable holiday seasons!

favorite tradition is Christmas morning breakfast. Bacon and eggs, with hashbrowns. For some reason it always tastes best on Christmas morning!

Getting up Christmas morning and opening gifts gifts with our little boys! Just seeing their faces light up is awesome!

we love decorating the tree, we also decorate the house at that time. we bring out all the boxes and holiday music, and we sip hot chocolate while we decorate. it's good fun.

What a great giveaway! I'd say my favorite tradition is opening up one gift on Christmas Eve, always pajamas, so they'll look their best for Santa. The kids know it's pj's but they're still excited to open something!

Christmas music blasting through the house. I wait for the end of Thanksgiving so we can start listing to Christmas music again.
