Something else you can do at the beginning of the year is to look at how far you've come in a year, or what do were doing a year ago.
Think about doing this:
make a list of accomplishments
write a letter to last year
take a photo of your kids in the same place as one from last winter
make and then/now comparison
look back on your goals/resolutions from last year and write about how you did and didn't complete certain things.
My youngest's birthday is on the 28th of December. Her birthday and Christmas and New Year are all hand in hand. Here are two photos of her a year apart.
This year she has:
gotten so tall
been completely potty trained
come into her own sense of humor
made a best friend
started ballet
taken 3 plane rides
learned to ride a little bike
started homeschool pre-school
cut her own hair
gotten her first hair cut
not given up her rinky and binky
started drawing people
perfected her elmosworld.com skills
become obsessed with stuffed animals
gotten a webkinz
been loved a LOT
